Kintana - Registering for HP PPM Technical Support

If you're serious about developing or administering an HP PPM system then you really really need to get registered. You get access to a self-help keyword searchable knowledge base and the ability to file cases if you can't figure out the problem. Plus access to over 40 manuals, a disussion forum with other users, and downloads, patches and service packs.

Step 1 - Setup an HP Passport profile

Go to this link and set up a basic HP password account for yourself

HP Passport New User Registration

Now you have an HP Passport account you've moved up in the food chain from just being able to access public content to being able to view items marked with the key symbol.

You're not done yet.

Step 2 - Add your company's Contract Identifier (SAID) to your Passport profile

In order to be able to submit cases you need to add your company's Contract Identifier (SAID) to your profile

Go to this page to add your company's SAID. Enter the SAID without spaces.

HP Support Add a Contract to your profile

You should be able to get the SAID from your manager or from the Contracts department. A Contract Identifier (SAID) has three four digit groups, for example : 1234 5678 9012

Step 3 - Check out the resources you now have access to

Adding your company's SAID adds to the resources you are entitled to access.

Click on this link to See what resources you have access to as you've moved up from a plain user to a HP Passport to a PPM user with an active contract.

I strongly recommend that you bookmark the following links! Trust me, these links are not easy to find. You'll save yourself hours wandering around the HP site trying to find where they've buried these essential resources!

HP PPM Information Resource Links
*Your HP Passport Sign-In and knowledge base search page.
*The HP PPM Manuals page.
*The HP PPM Discussion Forum page.

HP PPM Support and Enhancement Request Link
*The PPM Case Manager page.

HP PPM Patch and Upgrade Links
*Register to get email notifications of patches.
*Patch Types : Intermediate or Consolidated.
*The HP PPM Patches Download page.
This is actually a page that will let you search for the patch you want. Click open the patch you want. Look at the 'Patch Dependencies' section. HP PPM patches are cumulative. If the patch dependencies section is blank then the latest service pack contains all the fixes for version x.x. i.e It's a 'Consolidated' release. Right under the 'Should I download' banner is the Download Link: DOWNLOAD PATCH.
*PPM Product Downloads
Don't waste your time on the 'BTO Software Download center' link. This will get you everything BUT software downloads!. Getting to see the downloads available to your company is still typically convoluted, but at least this is the right starting point. To begin your trek, you'll need to select your companies SAID number and click [Submit]. http://www13.itrc.hp.com/service/sum/home.do Link a support agreement to your ITRC user ID http://www13.itrc.hp.com/service/entitlements/linkSupportAgreement.do Could not link support agreement This support agreement you entered, 1034 0503 2090 , is already linked by binu, binu.ponnappan@cbeyond.net.
