Kintana - Changing Command Step Timeouts

Kintana will terminate a command step that runs longer than the timeout value set for the step

This is usually because the code being executed by the command step has 'hung' in some way

However, occasionally you will have a step that just runs for a very long time, and you do not want Kintana to terminate it prematurely.

To increase the timeout value you first need to find out where it is defined in the system.
This is not easy. It is cunningly concealed.

First select the 'Object Type' (Deliver) or 'Request Type' (Create) menu item and from the list presented select the object that is timing out

Select the 'Commands' Tab. You should see something like this:

PPM Kintana Command Step Timeouts 01

You don't see a timeout value you say?

Scroll the 'Commands' window to the right.

Bingo!

PPM Kintana Command Step Timeouts 02

Now increase the timeout value adding a reasonable margin over the longest normal run time.
